The neighborhood
Overview
The villa’s private community is nestled on the southern coastline of east Cyprus, between beautiful Ayia Thekla beach and picturesque Potamos harbour. A seaside walking trail leads from the community all the way to Ayia Napa, passing Ayia Thekla, with a small grocery and restaurant, the large new marina complex, and many many beaches on the way to the main tourist centre. Follow the trail the other way and walk along the harbour of Potamos where there are some of the best fish meze taverns on the island and past a nature preserve on the scenic coastline.
More variety in restaurants, pubs, and grocery stores can be found in Ayia Napa, only 5 to 10 minutes away by car. For a more traditional experience, the village of Liopetri, home to many of the fishermen of the harbour, is only 5 minutes inland by car and has a picturesque centre with fountain, restaurants, grocers, and traditional markets and vendors.
Getting Around
A car is recommended for convenience and the villa has a private drive for parking. There are also busses that pass by the complex on the main road, about 400 metres from the villa, close to an entrance to the motorway. The bus can take you to almost every tourist centre, village, or beach in the area and pass every 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the route. OSEA is the bus company so it is best to visit their site to check if you plan on using the bus.
